Job summary

East Carolina University is seeking an hourly student employment Bus Operator for ECU Transit. The role is on-campus in Greenville, NC, with shifts mainly between 6:00 am and 1:00 am, averaging 15–20 hours weekly.

You will train, learn routes, and assist riders with schedules and accessibility as needed. Requirements include a valid NC driver's license (Class C or higher) for at least one year, a clean driving history, and the ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug testing.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NC driver's license Class C or higher for at least 1 year.
• Applicants with out-of-state licenses must switch to NC license.

Responsibilities

• Operate a transit vehicle to pick up, transport, and discharge passengers per schedule.
• Provide information on bus services, schedules, routes, and local information to customers.
• Receive and transmit radio communications for incidents and safety under ECU Transit protocols.
• Complete ongoing training courses for professional development provided by ECU Transit.
• Work at least 15-20 hours per week; shifts mainly 06:00–01:00, including nights, weekends, holidays.

Education

Valid North Carolina Driver's License, Class C or higher (at least 1 year)
