Job Description
The Student Technology Support Specialist will assist the Technology Team by providing first level support to the students and families at Georgia Cyber Academy.
Responsibilities
- Works directly with the Student Technology Support Specialist to ensure smooth transitions and provide effective training of new platforms and programs across the district
- Provide staff trainings and follow-up support on instructional resources
- Provide family trainings and follow-up support on instructional resources
- Create family and student facing resources
- Provide basic tech support to staff
- Oversees escalated support to families
- Manages the Student Help Center
- Escalate tech support to third-party vendors as needed
- Prepare student and staff usage reports from all systems
- Manages student data in the SIS
- Responsible for onboarding new students and their account management
- Works in collaboration on the weekly technology newsletter
- Attend In-Person Program Trainings and Conferences upon request
- Assists with technology inventory
- Attend any school or department level meetings upon request
- Provide Technology Coaching as requested
- Maintains accurate and confidential student records
- Participates in State Testing
- Other assigned duties as needed
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of three years of successful virtual teaching experience.
- Experience implementing technology platforms.
- Desire to research and learn new skills and platforms.
- Ability to create innovative and effective training materials.
- Possess strong communication, organizational, analytical, and written skills.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to interact positively with teachers, administrators, and support staff; and ? Possess knowledge of the school improvement process.
- Microsoft Office Proficient/Advanced (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Web proficiency
- This is primarily a home-based position with 20% required in-person events and support around the greater Atlanta area
- Ability to pass required background check
Certificates and Licenses- Clearance Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission required.
Desired Qualifications
- Leadership or Instructional Technology degree or endorsement or similar additional certification
- Previous experience as an online educator
- Previous leadership experience
- Proficient in G Suite for Education
- Proficient in Canvas
- Advanced Microsoft Office Excel, Access, SQL
- Proficient/Advanced Infinite Campus
- Bilingual
- Experience with student support or customer support
- Detail-oriented with a knack for compiling information into coherent and user-friendly formats

- Work Schedule: This is a Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, 5 Days/Week, In-Office position. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
- In-Person Attendance: In-person attendance at professional development, training, conferences, job fairs, meetings, school events, marketing events, and/or testing sites will be required several times per year.
- Vision: (which may be corrected) to read small print; view a computer screen for prolonged periods.
