Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a full-time Program Coordinator to support the P-STEP and Student Teaching Program. You will assist in coordinating administrative tasks, stakeholder communications, and program operations to ensure high-quality experiences for candidate teachers.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you will work with university partners, vendors, and CPS staff to streamline supports, plan events, manage stipends, and implement policies that enhance program effectiveness and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Minimum three (3) years of professional work experience is required.
• In-depth understanding of office management procedures, including balance sheets and cash-flow management.
• Strong negotiation skills to support vendor and partner service management.
• Excellent organizational skills with proofreading, editing, data entry and presentation.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, plus initiative and a team player attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills across all levels.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
• Customer-service based approach to candidate and partner management that is also highly collaborative and results-oriented.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Suite; Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint, Word/Docs.
• Working knowledge of Oracle and Salesforce platforms.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively to streamline candidate supports and identify opportunities for program improvement.
• Assess and prioritize requests from candidates and internal team.
• Plan and execute program events with vendors, venues, and materials.
• Collaborate across teams to support candidates and program partners.
• Manage stipends for candidates and cooperating teachers enrolled in the program.
• Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures.
• Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare action plans and identify operational risks and trends.
• Manage and direct candidate inquiries about the program structure and requirements via phone and email.
