Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a STE(A)M Coordinator to support teachers in developing instructional materials and implementing STE(A)M approaches while aligning CCSS-Math and NGSS within units of instruction. The role includes providing professional learning opportunities and coordinating community engagement for a whole-school STE(A)M approach.

The Coordinator sits on the STE(A)M Leadership Team, reports to the Principal, and leads differentiated PD, coaching, and partnerships to advance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and ISBE PEL with appropriate content endorsements are required.
• Experience designing and delivering PD and coaching adult learners is essential.
• Minimum teaching experience with curriculum mapping and integrating educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide teachers with professional development and instructional coaching.
• Assess teacher skills and work products related to STE(A)M instructional priorities.
• Design comprehensive professional learning plans based on teacher needs.
• Lead differentiated professional learning sessions aligned to CPS STE(A)M standards.
• Conduct non-evaluative observations and provide coaching.
• Coordinate external PD opportunities for teachers and partnerships.
• Engage in STE(A)M Leadership Community for sharing practices and collaboration.
• Support curriculum development and cross-curricular integration across STE(A)M.
• Participate in grade-level/department meetings to coordinate STE(A)M projects.
• Facilitate external partners' involvement and authentic experiences.
• Support non-STE(A)M teachers in infusing STE(A)M experiences.
• Provide academic support, enrichment, and community engagement.
• Identify gaps in student performance to plan targeted interventions.
• Promote STE(A)M awareness through partnerships and events.
