Job summary

C Cherokee County School District is seeking a paraprofessional to support classroom teachers and provide educational opportunities for students on a 180-day, 7.5-hour day schedule.

The role requires at least an associate or bachelor’s degree or successful completion of required GACE assessments, and may involve assisting with IEPs and behavior plans, along with using assistive technology to support learning.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or passing of the GACE Ethics Assessment and GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.
• Certification appropriate to paraprofessional duties as mandated by PSC where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Uses instructional strategies and techniques as prescribed to support learning.
• Provide support to students in resource, self-contained and/or regular classroom settings.
• Assist and adhere to plans or accommodations required by IEP, behavior plan, healthcare plan, etc.
• Perform duties to meet unique needs of student populations, including assisting students with mobility or personal care under supervision.
• Assist students and teachers in using hardware, software, and other technology including assistive tech.
• Provide ongoing feedback regarding student performance to teachers/administrators.
• Conduct small group or individual activities based on lesson plans.
• Assist with student assessment, grading, and data collection on progress.
• Assist with routine recordkeeping and preparation of instructional materials.
• Locate, operate, and return needed equipment; manage classroom inventory.
