Job summary

Southcentral KY Community & Technical College is seeking a dedicated professional for the Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) team. Reporting to the Associate Director of EOC, this role supports income-eligible, first-generation, and adult learners pursuing higher education and new opportunities.

The successful candidate will provide academic and career coaching, assist with financial literacy workshops, and help navigate financial aid processes and scholarship applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Student Affairs, Education, Social Science, or related field and 1 year of related experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; proficiency with computer applications, including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • The preferred candidate will also possess experience in educational opportunity programs and demonstrated ability to support the success of at-risk adult learners and students from diverse and underserved backgrounds, including minority, low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification, recruitment, and selection of eligible EOC participants
  • Provide academic coaching and career coaching to EOC program participants
  • Present financial literacy workshops and provide support through the financial aid process
  • Assist program participants with scholarship searches and applications
  • Coordinate outreach with campus and community partners.
  • Act as a liaison between program participants and education partners, as needed
  • Provide guidance in post-secondary school entry and entry into a GED program
  • Maintain proper documentation of program participants.
  • Assist program participants with the necessary paperwork to pursue educational goals.
