Job summary

Quincy Community Schools is seeking a Student Support Specialist for Quincy Middle and High School to work with students and families in a coordinated effort with school staff and community resources.

This grant-funded role focuses on attendance, behavior and academic interventions while partnering with social workers, deans, counselors, and teachers to support at-risk students and connect families with services.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Experience with student behavioral support.
  • Knowledge of community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Support the attendance program through proactive monitoring and intervention.
  • Assist, support, or run academic or behavioral programs/interventions with individual or small groups of students.
  • Collaborate with Principals, Dean of Students, Social Workers, Counselors for academics or behavior.
  • Connect families with social services in coordination with counselors.
  • Participate in child study and implement/coordinate 504 plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and school personnel to support at-risk students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
