Job summary

Quincy Community Schools is seeking a Student Support Specialist for Quincy Middle and High School. The role supports attendance through proactive monitoring and intervention and assists in academic and behavioral programs for students or small groups.

The position collaborates with Principals, Dean of Students, Social Workers, and Counselors to coordinate supports, connect families with community resources, and implement 504 plans as needed. Grant funded.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and families in an educational setting.
  • Background in student behavioral support and coordination with school staff.
  • Familiarity with community resources; bachelor’s degree in social work preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support attendance program with proactive monitoring and intervention.
  • Assist or run academic or behavioral programs for individual or small groups.
  • Collaborate with Principals, Dean of Students, Social Workers, and Counselors on academics or behavior.
  • Connect families with social services in coordination with counselors.
  • Participate in child study and implement/coordinate 504 plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to support at-risk students.
