Job summary

Windham Northeast Supervisory Union seeks a Paraprofessional to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development at Saxtons River Elementary School in Vermont. You will work closely with certified staff to assist instruction, supervise students, collect data, and help implement student support plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Must have 48 college credits OR pass Praxis ParaPro OR meet Title I requirements (not for behavior support roles).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to support students appropriately while using sound judgment.
• Experience with school‑aged children, including those with disabilities, preferred.
• Basic tech and data tracking skills, including Google Workspace proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Support students’ social-emotional growth and positive peer interactions.
• Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and service providers.
• Supervise students during transitions, meals, and activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies.
• Assist with instructional activities for individuals and small groups.
• Implement IEP/504 accommodations as outlined by the teacher.
• Collect and record routine student data to aid reporting.
• Promote inclusion and positive behavior within the classroom.
