Qualifications

• Requires ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Must follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and families.
• Familiarity with general office equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of instructional materials and displays.
• Maintain a neat, orderly classroom environment.
• Assist with inventory, equipment care and maintenance.
• Keep administrative records and reports as directed by teachers.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities as needed (transfers, mobility).
• Help manage student behavior and intervene in crises as needed.
• Adapt to individual students’ medical, physical, and emotional needs.
• Support supervision during lunch, bus, and playground times.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in staff meetings and training.
