Job summary

New Braunfels Chamber seeks a dedicated Educational Aide to assist in implementing classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities. You will work under the supervision of a principal and a certified teacher.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining orderly classrooms, assisting with records, and supporting substitute teachers. Experience with children and handling disabilities is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate required.
• Completion of at least two years of college coursework (48 semester hours) or an associate’s degree or demonstrated ability to assist reading, writing, and math readiness.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities as needed (transfers, lifting, positioning).
• Help manage student behavior, including crisis intervention and safety.
• Support individualized instruction and small-group activities to develop motor skills.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground times.
• Keep teacher informed of student needs and issues.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in staff development and meetings.
• Adhere to district records policies and retention schedules.
