Job summary

Paraeducator Student Support - Level 4 Classroom - Lakewood Elementary School in Lakewood, CO is a member of the Huron Valley School district. The role provides classroom assistance, reinforcement of instruction, and support for students in both special education and regular education settings.

Qualifications

Must work with students with physical, cognitive, emotional, learning and/or developmental disabilities.
Experience with special education students preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff.
Initiative to handle varied assignments with consistent approach.
Consent to Bill for Medicaid required.
Willingness to attend Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training after school hours.

Responsibilities

Complement and reinforce students' instruction under the teacher's supervision.
Assist with preparation of materials and classroom cleanup.
Assist with general supervision during lunch and recess.
Support students with routine medical procedures or hygiene needs as directed.
Attend to students as needed and perform other duties as assigned by the teacher/principal.
Track academic or behavioral data as directed by the teacher.
