Job summary

McKinley Children's Center in Southern California is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers in addressing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students. Responsibilities include direct instructional support, data collection, and following through on intervention plans with consistency and care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Experience with students with learning, behavioral, or emotional disabilities preferred.
• Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support across academic areas.
• Follow through on intervention plans with consistency and professionalism.
• Fill in as a substitute teacher if qualified.
• Work in multiple classrooms with varying ages and grade levels.
• Assist in classroom management, crisis response, and physical restraint as trained.
• Provide tutoring to students in small groups or one-on-one.
• Collaborate with counseling or behavioral staff and implement feedback.
• Collect and document behavioral and academic data as directed.
