Job description

TheStudent Support Conciergeprovidessupport, advocacy, and advisement to online students. Outside of the online classroom, the SSC provides the most sustained and meaningful contact with theclient institutionfor the student.

TheSSC’sduties include (but are not limited to)creating and implementing systems forthe following:

  • Assistingstudents in completing course registration processes and requirements.
  • Providingacademic advisement to students on topics such as courseselection.
  • Providingreferrals to academic and co-curricular resources, including support offices (registrar and financial aid, etc.) and other university resources asappropriate.
  • Monitoring students’ progress toward degree completion and proactively intervening when necessary.
  • Maintaining regular contact with students tomonitortheir well-being, academic progress, and other needs.
  • Keepsaccurateand detailed records in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies.
  • Communicating with the leadership as requested toprovidefeedback and information needed to deliver a quality online program.

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with eligibility for company benefits. Qualifiedapplicants will have at least a bachelor’s degree and some experience working with members of the public. Theyshould be comfortable interacting with a variety of clients through various media (phone, email, etc.)andexcellent customer service, communication, and collaboration skills. They should be detail-oriented and able to work under pressure.

TheStudent SupportConcierge serves as the face of the online programon behalf of the Magellan team. Most daily interactions for this position will be with others in the campus community, and ideally, the person occupying this role will come to seem like an integral part of the life of the campus.
