Job summary

Stanley Elementary School in Stanley, Virginia is seeking an ISS/Attendance Support Instructional Assistant. The role supports student attendance, monitors the Student Support Room, and assists with school-wide discipline under the principal’s direction.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, and research of learning.
• Demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model for students and support the school’s values and mission.
• Coordinate with administrators to maintain a safe, well-managed space for students during the day.
• Maintain positive relationships with staff and students and support attendance procedures.
• Under supervision, implement and post Student Support Room procedures and expectations.
• Supervise the Student Support Room and lunch detentions as directed by the principal.
• Provide attendance support to the school as needed by the principal.
