Job summary

Glendale Unified School District is seeking School Aides to assist teachers and staff in classroom and after-school settings. Positions include permanent and substitute assignments with 3–6 hour daily schedules across Glendale, La Crescenta, or Montrose.

Responsibilities include supporting instructional activities, supervising students, preparing materials, and basic clerical duties. Desirable coursework in education and second-language proficiency are noted benefits.

Qualifications

• Assists students with reading, writing, math, and other instructional activities.
• Provides individual and small group supervision under certificated staff.
• Prepares materials for displays and instructional use.
• Assists in setting up and cleaning up classroom or program spaces.
• Supports students with special needs under the direction of a specialist.
• Administers, scores, and records student work and assessments as directed.
• Performs related clerical duties including maintaining student files and operating audiovisual and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing instructional and activity plans.
• Supervise and support students in both academic and recreational settings.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Learn and work within the framework and requirements of the program to which assigned.
• Assist in serving meals and snacks and support routines such as napping when applicable.
