Job summary

Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio is seeking a Temporary aide assigned to a designated student in the areas of academic instruction and Mental Health Day Treatment services at PEP Phoenix.

The role requires a high school diploma, experience with behaviorally/emotionally challenged youth preferred, and the ability to collaborate with teachers, counselors, and staff. Training in safety and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention will be provided to ensure a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimally high school graduate, preferably a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with behaviorally/emotionally challenged children/youth preferred.
• Communicate accurately and effectively, both written and orally.
• Demonstrate effective decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Align practice with Sanctuary Model and Re-ED philosophy.
• Support the delivery of mental health related services and the social-emotional curricula.
• Assist with academic program and instructional activities under the guidance of the Teacher-Counselor.
• Accompany class/student on class outings as needed by the Principal.
• Assist with clerical tasks in absence of designated student.
• Supervise students throughout the day (lunch, art, music, etc.).
• Implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention with fidelity to support treatment and reduce restraints when applicable.
• Prepare for student support by reviewing materials in advance.
• Demonstrate safe work practices for self and others.
• Pass required trainings including Vehicle Safety, First Aid, CPR, and others.
• Participate in staff development activities and meetings as scheduled.
• Work respectfully with a culturally diverse student population.
• Present yourself professionally and in appropriate attire.
• Adhere to PEP policies and procedures.
