Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking a part-time role focused on supervising students, supporting teachers, and ensuring safety on campus and during field trips. The position requires 12 quarter credits in child development and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 quarter credits affiliated with child development.
• Excellent human relations skills when dealing with staff, students, and the community.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, memos and short correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to operate computer and related equipment.
• Awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist administration and teachers in supervising students and maintaining discipline on-site and during field trips.
• Communicate with bus drivers, community members, students, staff and parents.
• Supervise students in hallways, lunchroom, bus areas and other areas, assisting with on/off equipment and safety.
• Monitor student behavior and apply appropriate consequences per learning plans and building policy.
• Provide information to parents, drivers and community members as necessary during supervision.
• Refer maintenance issues to custodial staff.
• Assist with fire drills, ensuring safe exit and re-entry procedures.
• Perform general clerical functions such as answering phones, greeting visitors, and filing.
• Assist with meal distribution and coordination with related departments to maintain federal regulations for school programs.
