Job summary

Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking a Tutoring and Academic Coaching Services Coordinator to lead daily operations, recruit and supervise tutors and coaches, and ensure inclusive, student-centered services across on-campus and online platforms.

The role reports to the Career Pathway and Success Coach and supports retention initiatives for diverse student populations, including Apo Haumāna. Non-exempt, full-time position based at the Honolulu campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, psychology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with others.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Canva; Google Docs/Sheets/Slides; and Microsoft Office.
• Commitment to equity-minded, inclusive, and student-centered services.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and hire tutors and academic coaches based on demand and subject coverage.
• Facilitate onboarding and lead semesterly training on tutoring and coaching best practices.
• Provide professional development through staff workshops and coaching sessions.
• Conduct regular check-ins with tutors and coaches to review progress and goals.
• Oversee scheduling and logistics for in-person and online services using Reservio and Google Calendar.
• Coordinate online sessions using Google Meet and manage access via university accounts.
• Maintain an inclusive center environment and manage supplies and accessibility considerations.
• Review post-session feedback to inform development plans for staff.
• Compile usage data and enter into master spreadsheets to track attendance and demand.
• Share reports with leadership to inform recruitment and operations.
