Job summary

Lone Star College Montgomery seeks a tutor/academic coach to provide supplemental learning support and tutoring services to students and community members. The role focuses on learning strategies, life management skills, and improving student success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of work experience.
• Transcripts and/or a proficiency test may be required.
• Preferred: tutoring experience and/or academic coaching or mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify skill gaps and provide weekly action plans to ensure academic success.
• Monitor student progress and craft personalized action plans with students.
• Guide students to develop accountability and understand impact on success.
• Help students remove barriers to academic achievement.
• Deliver tutoring and workshops to develop study habits, organization, and time management.
