Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; paraprofessional requirements and NCLB standards.
• Two years of college (48 credits) or an associate's degree or higher.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction.
• Demonstrated instructional technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring when not receiving direct instruction.
• Assist with classroom management and organize instructional materials.
• Maintain accurate student records on attendance, testing, progress, and other factors.
• Provide information, materials and instructional support to classroom instructors.
• Conduct parent involvement activities and communicate with parents/guardians.
• Provide support in a library or media center.
• Provide instructional support under direct supervision of a teacher.
• Prepare items for newsletters, bulletins, and assist in events or guest speakers.
• Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain progress data.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
