Job summary

The College Internship Program (CIP) seeks a Student Advisor for its Melbourne, FL center. This onsite, full-time role partners with students and families to guide independence and coordinate CIP functions. Reports to the Head Student Advisor.

The job requires a Bachelor’s degree, strong communication and organization, and driving license, with potential weekend work and travel as duties demand. CIP specializes in supporting autistic and learning-difference students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in psychology, social work, education, or related field.
• Active driver's license required.
• 2 years of autism/learning differences experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience in higher education advising preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write and coordinate ISPs and Semi-Annual Progress reports.
• Prepare and facilitate periodic meetings with students and parents.
• Communicate with student families regarding progress and schedule changes.
• Assist students with banking/money management and budget.
• Lead Team Review Meetings and report progress weekly.
• Attend weekly meetings on academic, residential, and vocational progress.
• Consult with CIP staff to ensure comprehensive programming.
• Address problems and policy violations as needed.
• Reinforce student growth from self-awareness to self-determination.
• Monitor progress and inform families and professionals.
• Promote student engagement using Advising Processes and Tools.
• Coordinate supports tailored to each student's needs.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field
