Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College in Gary, IN is seeking an Academic Coordinator/Counselor to lead TRIO program activities across campuses in Gary, East Chicago, Crown Point, with some travel. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; preference for Counseling, Education or Higher Education.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• At least five years of relevant experience in higher education or serving underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist TRIO Director in selection, utilization and evaluation of assessments.
• Coordinate academic support and individualized plans with director.
• Supervise and help select ESL, Health and other tutors.
• Maintain ties with English, Math, and Science departments.
• Counsel students on career assessment and decision-making.
• Assist in organization and maintenance of reports and FERPA compliance.
