Job summary

Elgin Community College seeks a TRIO Student Support Services Grant Coordinator to oversee student support activities, staff supervision, and program evaluation. The role collaborates with campus staff and community partners to deliver comprehensive services for disadvantaged students.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 3–5 years in education or related fields, with strong knowledge of CFR, TRIO processes, MTSS, and data analysis. Flexible scheduling may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Three to five years working in education, social work or related fields
• Considerable knowledge of CFR for grants
• Considerable knowledge of TRIO grant application, award, and annual reporting processes
• Good knowledge of MTSS used by Upward Bound program
• Good knowledge of post-high school pathways
• Good knowledge of academic, career, transfer advising, and financial aid processes
• Cultural and generational awareness
• Strong collaboration with partners to implement programming
• Budget management capability
• Excellent communications skills
• MS Office and Google applications
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail
• Analytical skills to identify patterns from data
• Experience engaging diverse populations
• Flexibility to work days/evenings/weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to assigned students and monitor progress
• Hire, train, supervise and evaluate program staff
• Manage implementation of grant activities and events
• Coordinate service delivery and student recruitment
• Ensure data quality and assist with evaluations and reports
• Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships
• Support colleagues during peak periods
• Adhere to attendance and punctuality guidelines
• Exercise independent judgement in decisions
• Availability for after-hours emergency responses as needed
