Job summary

Purdue University’s Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture seeks a Student Success Specialist to coordinate undergraduate student support, recruitment, retention and scholarships within the unit. You will partner with faculty, advisors and campus offices to promote student achievement and timely degree completion.

Responsibilities include managing student success programs, analyzing metrics, scheduling courses, coordinating events, and supervising a student worker and ambassadors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, or related field.
• 6 months of experience in a student support role in an educational setting or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage student success programs within the academic unit to assist undergraduate students with goals (academic, leadership, social, career).
• Collect, analyze, and report student success metrics.
• Develop and implement new resources/programs to improve student success and retention.
• Coordinate with academic advisors and faculty to support student success and address barriers.
• Design and implement improvements to programming with program leads and advisors.
• Schedule and ensure courses meet student needs; manage Curriculog and curricular issues.
• Oversee scholarship and student awards processes and evaluations.
• Schedule large lecture room requests and reminders.
• Onboard and supervise at least one student worker for the Student Success office.
• Advise HLA Ambassadors and coordinate their events.
• Participate in annual education events and career fairs for Purdue students and related groups.
