Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a school counselor to support student success under moderate supervision. The counselor will implement a comprehensive program addressing academic and social development for all students, aligning with NC standards and policies.

Qualifications

Master's degree in school counseling or equivalent with licensure.
Completion of NC school counseling certification or ability to obtain.
Experience aligning counseling programs with state standards and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
Design and deliver a comprehensive school counseling program based on NC standards.
Counsel students individually or in groups for identified needs (academic, personal/social, career).
Collaborate with parents/guardians and school staff to promote student success.
Maintain and update the school counseling plan and monitor program effectiveness.
Respond to student crisis and coordinate appropriate interventions.
