Job summary

California State University, Sacramento invites applications for the Assistant Program Coordinator (SSP IB) role. You will support the Center’s program coordination, mentor students, and collaborate with interns to design and deliver programs that promote student excellence through events, materials, and campus committee representation.

The role emphasizes outreach, leadership development, and inclusive student support, with a typical workweek Mon–Fri, some evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide student support services to a diverse student population, including Latine communities
• Experience planning, coordinating, and implementing educational programs, cultural events, outreach initiatives, or student engagement activities in higher education
• Working knowledge of interview techniques
• Ability to gather and analyze data; reason logically; draw valid conclusions and make recommendations
• Ability to participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences and interviews
• Written and verbal communication skills for newsletters, social media content, marketing materials, presentations, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, campus partners
• Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents

Responsibilities

• Mentor and advise students; support interns and student assistants
• Deliver integrated student services and programming to improve academic success and student experience
• Lead events and programs to promote student excellence and representation on campus committees
• Support staff in designing and delivering programs for graduate and undergraduate students
• Collaborate with campus partners to engage and retain students
