The Student Success Program Management Specialist for Towson University’s Student Success Programs provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and programmatic support to the Director, Associate Director, and Coordinator. This position is responsible for coordinating accounts payable processes, maintaining departmental operational files, managing office supplies and equipment, and ensuring efficient day-to-day office operations. The role works collaboratively with the Administrative Assistant for the Center for Student Diversity to ensure consistent implementation of office procedures, scheduling activities, and successful delivery of programs and services that support student engagement and success. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills to effectively support departmental objectives and enhance student experience.


Responsibilities And Duties


  • Provides administrative and logistical support for all of the Student Success Programs initiatives and programming: SAGE peer mentoring program (80 mentor leaders), SAGE living learning community with 48 residents, CROP college readiness outreach program (20 student leaders) mentoring K-12 students in preparation for college, Gen One workshops and meetings, H.E.R. and Man 2 Man identity-based support programs, and TU4Balt program supporting students from Baltimore city cohorts, Lead the annual end of the semester De-Stress for Success signature program; prepare programming in identifying campus partners, provide a schedule of opportunities for the day; student recognition events, workshops, and other campus-wide initiatives. registration management, setup, and post-event assessment. Collect and process programming data presenting to the team with an analyst of the data collected to be used for reporting.

  • Coordinates departmental communications and marketing efforts by maintaining website content; preparing TU Today announcements; managing Involved@TU postings for departmental programs and events; submitting events to the Master Events Calendar; coordinating digital signage and university screen marketing; and developing newsletters, social media content, and promotional materials to increase visibility and engagement. Serves as the primary point of contact for the Student Success Programs email account, ensuring timely responses and appropriate follow-up. Work with ECS to Schedule space reservations and logistics through the 25 live software for the department and suite; Work with team to assist create opportunities; department representative in Divisional ECS and Administrative Assistants meeting; maintain and manage the Director’s calendar; field meetings for assistant director and supports scheduling for other department staff when needed.

  • Maintain scholarship documentation working with financial aid for over 120 recipients of 10k over four years; schedule and facilitate information sessions for recipients; provide and maintain required documentation Assist with recruitment and hiring processes of new employees, including onboarding and separation procedures for new staff. Supervise and coordinate duties and weekly training for 10-15 SSP Office Assistants. Process and maintain payroll and federal work study paperwork for all eligible student employees; maintain confidential and sensitive documents.

  • Coordinates payments to vendors for all purchases, including reconciling orders with packing slips, preparing, and submitting invoices for payment, creating electronic purchase orders, w-9 forms, and contractual agreements, etc.; works closely with CSD Administrative Assistant II on suite programs and office dynamics. departmental purchases, Orders and maintains supplies for Student Success Programs, office supplies, promotional items, programming supplies, creating process for marketing items, etc.

  • Responsibilities include receiving and screening telephone calls and visitors; managing departmental calendars; scheduling meetings; coordinating travel arrangements; preparing agendas and recording minutes for staff, suite, and departmental meetings; Maintain space for graduate & undergraduate assistants and partnering programs to include but not limited to College Bound and Durant scholars.

  • Coordinates facilities management activities and procedures, including building/maintenance repairs, work order requests, telephone, computer, and photocopier issues, building access, key maintenance, etc. Serves as the point of contact for suite building requests. Prepares, revises, and maintains policies, procedures, forms, and documents. This includes maintaining the Policy and Procedure Manual.


The work schedule for this position will include evenings and weekends on an occasional basis.

Qualifications And Skills

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Two years of experience in administrative staff work.


Elementary knowledge of reference and research methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data and information; of basic methods and techniques used in organizing and conducting studies and analyses or programs, procedures, and organizations; of basic analytical and statistical principles and techniques. Skill in the use of office automation software and its application; in operating manual and automated office equipment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; to present ideas and information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; to perform mathematical computations; to present statistical material in chart and graph form.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications


  • Knowledge and/or experience working with confidential electronic records (e.g., PeopleSoft, Point, and Click EHR)

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment.


Salary and Benefits

$48,138 annually and full University benefits that include annual leave, up to 17 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission.


This position will be open for a minimum of 14 days.
