Job summary

The position reports to the Principal and emphasizes confidentiality and data-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Certification in Guidance and Counseling by the State of Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Develop guidance programs based on developmental needs of students and system priorities.
• Communicate goals and services of the counseling programs to school administration, staff, students and parents.
• Provide personal/social growth counseling for academic success, self-understanding, and coping skills.
• Maintain student records according to established guidelines and maintain confidentiality.
• Collaborate with outside services and make appropriate referrals for psychological, social work, health, and community services.
