Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools is seeking a Counselor to advance students' personal, social, educational, and career growth. You will design and implement a counseling program, provide individual and group guidance, and work with families and staff to meet diverse student needs.

The role requires a Master’s degree or higher, ALSDE certification, an Administrative/Teacher Leader endorsement, and at least three years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree or higher is required.
• Minimum three years of successful teaching experience.
• Must have Administrative/Teacher Leader/Supervision endorsement.
• Must be ALSDE certified teacher/administrator evaluator.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an annual local school counseling and guidance plan in accordance with State standards and local plan.
• Implements the school counseling and guidance program curriculum.
• Provides individual and group counseling and guidance for personal, social, educational, and career plans.
• Consults with parents/guardians, teachers, and staff to meet student needs and makes referrals.
• Maintains comprehensive records and reports.
• Prepares and manages annual budget for the counseling and guidance program.
