Job summary

Polk County Public Schools seeks a Student Advisor to support a comprehensive counseling program addressing academic, personal/social, and career development. The role collaborates with counselors and administrators to ensure equitable access and student success.

The incumbent will facilitate course placement, individual planning, MTSS meetings, and referral processes, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with district standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Education or hold a Florida teaching certificate and have a minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience as evidenced by effective or highly effective ratings or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Aligns with the district's mission to support academic achievement and equity.
• Develops and maintains a written plan for delivering the school counseling program.
• Addresses course placement, individual student planning, prevention, MTSS meetings, and 504 plan development.
• Collaborates with School Counselor and administrators; makes referrals as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
