Job summary

The role involves coordinating course placement, MTSS meetings, monitoring progress, and developing 504 plans, while collaborating with the School Counselor and administration.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Education or hold a Florida teaching certificate and have a minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience as evidenced by effective or highly effective ratings or equivalent experience.
• Student Advisors must sign an Agreement to Earn a minimum of 12 semester credit hours per calendar year towards a master's in a state-approved program for school counseling.

Responsibilities

• Aligns with the district's mission to support academic achievement and equity for all students.
• Facilitate successful transition and progression of students; work with School Counselor to develop and maintain a written plan for effective counseling delivery.
• Address course placement, individual student planning, MTSS meetings, monitor academic progress, and develop/implement 504 plans.
• Provide services to students individually and in groups; offer consultation to teachers and other school personnel; make referrals as appropriate.
