Job summary

OSU-Oklahoma City is seeking a dedicated coordinator for the Educational Talent Search program to guide participants toward graduation and postsecondary success. You will handle academic counseling, workshop delivery, and liaison activities with schools and colleges.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and at least two years in student services or youth programs, plus a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in student personnel services (academic/personal/career counseling)
• Two years of related experience with disadvantaged youth
• Bachelor's degree in Education, counseling, psychology, social work, human relations or related field
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Execute the goals and objectives of the Educational Talent Search program.
• Initiate and maintain contact with target schools, helping agencies and community organizations.
• Act as a liaison between target schools and post‑secondary institutions.
• Recruit eligible participants.
• Provide individual academic guidance and counseling to encourage completing a rigorous secondary school program.
• Coordinate all program activities in assigned target schools.
• Maintain and manage student records and documentation of eligibility, needs, services and progress.
• Plan and conduct workshops (in‑person or virtual) on career exploration, college orientation and financial aid awareness.
• Develop ICAPs for participants and provide academic planning guidance.
• Assist participants with admissions and financial aid for college.
• Assist the Project Director in preparing data for APR reports.
• Provide early retention interventions for 6th–12th graders.
• Monitor program objectives and participant retention and activities.
• Help supervise and transport participants on visits to campuses and events.
• Provide parental involvement workshops on financial aid and postsecondary education topics.
• Support reentry of eligible populations into secondary or postsecondary education.
• Attend staff meetings and mandatory trainings; participate in professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director
