Qualifications

  • Master's degree in School Counseling or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for Virginia licensure in school counseling.
  • Active LPC license may be considered in lieu of requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support personal-social, mental health, academic needs and college/career readiness for all students.
  • Provide individual counseling and small group counseling on topics such as study skills and self-esteem.
  • Deliver classroom instruction every 2–3 weeks aligned with ASCA/VDOE standards.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program (ASCA model).
  • Collect and analyze program data; report outcomes to stakeholders and guide interventions.
  • Collaborate with families, staff, administrators, and community partners to promote student success.
  • Communicate objectives of the program to students, parents, and the community.
