Job summary

The University of St. Thomas seeks a collaborative Coordinator of Student Success & Retention. This role combines direct student coaching with data tracking, ensuring every flagged student is reached and informing leadership decisions.

Responsibilities include coaching, data reporting, and cross-platform analysis across Watermark SS&E, EdSights, and Knack Tutoring, with a focus on Catholic mission alignment and student well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 1–3 years in higher education student services, coaching, advising, or case management.
• Ability to build trust quickly with students in distress (crisis flags within 48 hours).
• Proficiency in data entry, data tracking, and identifying trends from data.

Responsibilities

• Coach students flagged via alerts who have no assigned success coach; contact within 48 hours.
• Conduct needs assessments using the four-pillar model: Motivation, Belonging, Academic Preparedness, Emotional Well-Being.
• Connect students to resources (Knack tutoring, Celt Food Pantry, Financial Aid, Counseling, Dreams.US).
• Log all contacts in Watermark SS&E within 24 hours; book next appointment before the student leaves.
• Escalate non-responsive students after three failed outreach attempts.
• Conduct weekly data pulls across platforms to identify unresolved alerts and coverage gaps.
• Prepare a monthly coaching coverage report: unique students coached, alert response rates, caseload distribution.
