Job summary

HRDI, a leading behavioral health care agency, seeks a Teacher's Aide to assist in instruction and student progress evaluation. You will support teachers, help maintain a structured classroom, and contribute to a safe, therapeutic environment for students.

The role involves preparing materials, supporting in the computer lab, and reporting to certified staff. Prior experience with children is preferred, with strong communication to parents during progress updates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of experience working with children (school-age preferred).
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education or has obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree.
• Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics as appropriate.
• Some understanding of the academic and behavioral needs of students and intervention strategies used to assist them in the teaching/learning process is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instruction of pupils and in planning documents and evaluation of student progress in academic and behavioral areas.
• Provide students with direct assistance in achieving success in the teaching/learning process and meeting goals.
• Help create a structured, safe, therapeutic environment that fosters cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth.
• Assist with classroom management and organize instructional materials.
• Provide instructional services in the computer laboratory under supervision.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress, behavior, activities, and development.
