Job summary

DeTour Area Schools is seeking a Personal Care/Instructional Aide to support the classroom teacher and student programs. You will assist in preparing instructional materials and carry out daily student objectives, documenting progress as directed, and supporting student needs including personal care as required by the instructor and supervisor.

This role requires emotional stability, physical stamina, and the ability to work with special education students.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess emotional stability and physical stamina to perform duties.
• Must meet requirements to be employed by a third-party contractor.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in planning and implementing student programs.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials for the student program.
• Carry out student objectives and programs established by the instructor on a daily basis.
• Assist in documenting student progress as directed by instructor/driver.
• Provide support for student needs including toileting, feeding, hygiene, lifting/transferring (up to 100 pounds), and medically related needs.
