Job summary

University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking a Temporary Academic Advisor for the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and the Arts. The advisor will provide undergraduate academic advising, help with course selections, major declaration, and retention efforts, for a flexible 10–29 hour per week caseload during the academic year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Student Affairs or closely related field with three years of progressive experience in academic advising or similar area.
• Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Student Affairs or related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to undergraduate students.
• Assist in orientation, enrollment, retention and major declaration.
• Maintain advising files and assist students with academic and personal challenges.
