Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a dedicated Academic Advisor to support undergraduates through holistic, student-centered services from acceptance to graduation.

The role includes teaching First-Year Thriving (up to 4 sections annually) and requires reliable, professional communication and collaboration with campus staff and faculty. Some evenings and non-standard hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required; equivalent professional experience considered.
  • Two years of direct student support and programming experience may be substituted for a higher degree.
  • Experience with liberal arts education and student advising preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct student support to an assigned caseload and help students achieve goals.
  • Teach up to 4 sections of First-Year Thriving (1 credit) per year.
  • Work some evenings and non-standard hours as needed.
  • Collaborate with campus staff and faculty to remove barriers to student success.
