Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Academic Advisor to provide holistic advising to undergraduates across the Haile College of Business at NKU. The role focuses on retention, progress, and informed academic and career decisions.

You'll work with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and administrators to connect them with campus resources and support successful graduation paths. Commitment to inclusive, student-centered advising is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree in Business, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in academic advising or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advise undergraduate students pursuing majors and minors in the Haile College of Business, including prospective, new, transfer, online, and continuing students.
  • Communicate regularly with undergraduate students regarding academic planning and degree requirements.
  • Assist students in developing and achieving educational and career goals.
  • Collaborate with campus partners and participate in admissions, orientation, recruitment, retention, and student success initiatives.
  • Serve on university and college committees, such as the Academic Advising Council.
  • Support the Center for Student Excellence through special initiatives, projects, and events.
  • Complete the NKU Master Advisor Program to provide high-quality advising for new and continuing students.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on policies and best practices.
