The role orients students on admissions, testing, registration, and available resources while monitoring progress and addressing concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
• Experience in higher education and academic advising preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal, organizational and management skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Ability to engage with people of diverse cultures/backgrounds.
• Computer literacy required; experience with database applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to help students understand degree requirements, course selection, and policies.
• Conduct degree audits and assist with graduation applications; maintain advising records.
• Support admissions, testing, registration processes, and available resources.
• Monitor student progress and identify at‑risk students; connect to resources.
• Develop detailed academic plans to support student success and retention.
• Provide information on academic and non‑academic support services and refer as needed.
• Utilize advising tools to track progress, collect data, and address retention trends.
• Level II Advisors train and mentor new Advisors.
