Job summary

The advisor will maintain FERPA records and coordinate with Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to ensure accurate advising materials.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and 5 years of related higher education experience or 2 years with a Master’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, counseling, social work, or related fields.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Community College experience or credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental academic advising for new and continuing students.
• Assist students in interpreting placement scores, program curricula, and pre-requisites.
• Maintain advising records in compliance with FERPA.
• Coordinate with Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to ensure accurate advising materials.
• Develop and monitor Academic Completion Plans and student progress.
• Refer students to internal and external resources to promote success.
• Explain the college’s registration process and prerequisite requirements.
• Promote inclusive environments and engage in professional development.
