Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College seeks an Academic Advisor to provide developmental advising for new and continuing students using a case management approach. You will help students define personal and academic goals, interpret placement scores, navigate curricula, and register for courses.

You will reference internal and external resources to foster student success and maintain FERPA-compliant records. The role reports to the Director of Academic Advising and requires collaboration with Student

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, social work, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in academic advising, admissions, career counseling or related higher education area is required or 2 years of experience with a Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education, counseling psychology, or related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental academic advising for new and continuing students using a case management approach.
• Assist students in defining personal and academic goals and interpreting placement scores, curricula, and prerequisites.
• Maintain FERPA-compliant advising records and protect student privacy.
