Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in United States is seeking an Academic Advisor to provide developmental academic advising for new and continuing students, using a case management approach to help them define goals and register for courses.

You will refer students to internal and external resources, maintain FERPA-compliant records, and coordinate with Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to ensure accurate advising materials and an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, social work, or related fields is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in academic advising, admissions, career counseling or related higher education area is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental academic advising for students using a case management approach.
• Refer students to internal and external resources to foster student success.
• Assist students in interpreting placement scores, program curricula, and prerequisites.
• Maintain FERPA-compliant advising records.
• Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
