Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• One year of experience working with college students in an education or service-related setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides informative and collaborative advising for assigned student populations.
• Teaches students strategies related to academic planning and monitoring, major selection, and academic success.
• Provides routine career guidance to assist students in self-evaluation and choosing a major.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge about university resources, course/degree options, program admissions criteria and degree completion requirements.
• Uses data and case management to identify students on their caseload needing interventions.
• Monitors degree progress and takes appropriate communication/action.
• Enters data regarding academic advisement services.
• Collaborates with staff to assess advising practices and materials.
• Maintains high-level communication with students and staff.
• Provides presentations for orientations and university events.
