Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking an Academic Advisor to guide current and prospective students through degree requirements, course selection, and educational planning. You will manage a caseload, monitor progress, and support retention and completion in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities include interpreting transcripts, documenting advising sessions in MyMav, knowing university policies, and connecting students with counseling, tutoring, and other services while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four years of equivalent education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of policies and student services and NACADA/TEXAAN resources.
• Proficiency with student information systems and university catalogs.

Responsibilities

• Advise current and prospective students through in-person, virtual, phone, and email.
• Guide degree requirements, course selection, and educational planning.
• Monitor caseload and support academic progress.
• Review transcripts and document advising in MyMav.
• Stay informed on policies and refer to counseling, tutoring, and services.
• Participate in campus events, meetings, and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
