Job summary

The New School in New York City is seeking a creative Social Media Content Creator for SCE to craft engaging Instagram posts and help launch a LinkedIn presence. You will shoot, edit, and design short-form content, write compelling copy, and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to tell authentic campus stories.

Ideal candidates have multimedia production experience, graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), strong writing, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Interest in social media, storytelling, and community building.
• Photography and/or videography experience is preferred.
• Graphic design skills in Adobe Creative Suite are required.
• Strong copywriting and editing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Content Creation: craft social media content for SCE’s Instagram and LinkedIn.
• Multimedia Production: shoot and edit photo/video content, short-form videos.
• Graphic Design: design assets for social media, blogs, and newsletters.
• Copywriting: write concise copy following branding guidelines.
• Collaboration: work with students, faculty, and staff to gather content.
• Event Coverage: attend events to capture promotional material.
• Community Engagement: monitor and respond on social channels.
• Research: explore news and ideas to promote the SCE community.
• Strategy Development: contribute to social media strategy and scheduling.
• Team Meetings: participate in regular meetings.
