Job summary

The New School in New York City is seeking a Social Media Content Creator to craft engaging social media content for SCE’s channels, with plans to expand to LinkedIn. You will shoot and edit photos and short-form videos, design assets for social, blogs, and newsletters, and write copy that follows branding guidelines.

Collaborating with students, faculty, and staff, you will cover events, monitor accounts, engage audiences, and help shape social media strategy and scheduling with a hybrid

Qualifications

• Interest in social media, storytelling, and community building.
• Multimedia skills in photography and/or videography.
• Graphic design experience with Adobe tools.
• Strong copywriting and editing abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Proactive, independent, and aware of latest digital trends.
• Available during office hours with occasional events.

Responsibilities

• Content creation for Instagram and planning a LinkedIn presence.
• Shoot and edit photo/video content for social media use.
• Design graphic assets for social channels, blogs, and newsletters.
• Write concise copy following branding guidelines.
• Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff for content and takeovers.
• Attend events to capture social media content.
• Monitor accounts and engage with the SCE community and audiences.
• Research timely topics to promote the SCE community.
• Develop social media strategy and scheduling.
• Participate in regular team meetings.
