Albemarle County Public Schools in Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking a Student Safety Coach to join the Department of Student Services for the 2026-27 school year. This full-time, 10-month position focuses on student safety, crisis intervention, building security, and restorative practices in a diverse learning environment.

Responsibilities include collaboration with staff, risk reduction, emergency response, and supporting positive behavior and equity across the school community.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field or equivalent.
• One year of related experience required.
• Virginia School Security Officer Training and Certification is required after 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff to promote educational equity and maintain a positive school environment.
• Provide student safety through positive behavior interventions and crisis management.
• Coordinate with police, fire, and emergency personnel as needed.
