Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools seeks a dedicated Student Safety Coach to promote a safe, welcoming environment and support students, families, and staff. The role emphasizes collaboration with administrators, teachers, and community partners to ensure every student feels safe and valued.

You will coordinate risk assessments, oversee crisis response, and implement restorative practices while following district policies and equity goals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices.
• Experience with safety interventions and restorative practices.
• Familiarity with IEPs/504s and school safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Promote educational equity and a positive school environment.
• Provide positive behavior support and crisis response coordination.
• Collaborate with administrators, staff, and emergency services as needed.
• Maintain documentation of safety incidents and actions taken.
• Assist with home visits and truancy prevention as needed.
